Balasore: TP Northern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPNODL) inaugurated its fourth dedicated metering store at Rairangpur, reaffirming its commitment to providing hassle-free services across the northern region of the state.
The store was inaugurated ceremoniously by Dushyant Kumar Tyagi, Chief Executive Officer – TPNODL in the presence of Nilesh Potphode, Chief Operation services, Pradeep Kumar Mohanty, Chief Projects, Debadutta Panda, SE Baripada and key stakeholders.
The metering store initiative is part of TPNODL’s plan to establish 13 metering stores across the northern region, ensuring greater accessibility and convenience for consumers. The first store was
inaugurated at Balia, Balasore in August 2025, followed by openings at Joda and Anandpur in Keonjhar district. With the Rairangpur store now operational, nine more stores are scheduled to be inaugurated soon, including Jaleswar, which is already in the pipeline.
Speaking at the event, CEO Tyagi emphasized TPNODL’s focus on consumer-centric services: “Our metering stores are designed to bring efficiency, transparency and convenience to our consumers. This initiative is a step forward in strengthening our service delivery and ensuring that every consumer has easy access to metering solutions.”
The metering stores are envisioned as local service hubs that will directly address consumer needs related to metering issues. By bringing these facilities closer to communities, consumers will no longer have to wait for meter-related queries or support. Each store is equipped with a mini testing bench to check the accuracy of meters, ensuring transparency and trust in billing.
This facility will allow consumers to verify meter performance on the spot, thereby reducing disputes and enhancing confidence in the system. Additionally, the stores will provide a one-stop solution for meter installations, replacements, and billing support, making service delivery faster, more reliable, and more consumer-friendly.
