Bhubaneswar: The test positivity rate (TPR) dropped below 6 per cent on Thursday as 3631 of 63421 samples tested positive for COVID in the last 24 hours.
The TPR stood at 5.72 per cent against 6.02 per cent the previous day. It was 6.33 per cent and 7.20 per cent on Tuesday and Monday respectively.
According to the I & PR department, 2069 of the fresh infections are from quarantine and 1562 local contact cases.
Khurda registered the highest 506 new cases, followed by Cuttack (438) and Jajpur (305).

With this, Odisha now has 45809 active cases. Khurda, Cuttack, Jajpur and Balasore are in Red Zone with 6996, 4212, 3661 and 3398 active cases respectively. Jajpur has the highest of 23.5 per cent TPR, followed by Puri (12.4), Khurda and Cuttack at 9.5 per cent, and Balasore and Keonjhar at 8.2 per cent.
