Berhampur: In a move towards ensuring safety and skill development in the workplace, TP Southern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL) has signed an MoU with state government’s Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in Berhampur and Hinjilicut.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at TPSODL’s corporate office in Berhampur in presence of Amit Kumar Garg, CEO, TPSODL; Rajat Kumar Panigrahy, Principal of ITI Berhampur and Rajesh Tripathy, Principal of ITI Hinjilicut on Friday.
Under the MoU, the TPSODL will launch the “Safety Training Programme (Safety-Nest: Nurturing a Secure Environment)” for the technical students. The programme aims at imparting crucial safety skills aligned with Tata Power’s Distribution Company operations.
Amit Kumar Garg, CEO of TPSODL said, “We are delighted to join hands with ITI Berhampur and Hinjilicut to initiate the ‘Safety-Nest’ programme. We believe this collaboration will empower students with the knowledge and expertise needed for a secure work environment within the power distribution sector.”
The programme is designed to equip students with industry-relevant skills, addressing the importance of safety in the power distribution sector. TPSODL also plans to extend its partnership to other government ITIs under its jurisdiction in a phased manner.
The agreement follows Tata Power’s recent collaboration with the Skill Development and Technical Education department.
