Berhampur: Tata Power Southern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL) on Saturday organised health camps through its Mobile Health Dispensaries (MHD) on the eve of World Health Day.
The TPSODL operates MHDs under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) framework to serve the healthcare needs of remote villages in Southern Odisha. The initiative aims at delivering basic healthcare services at the doorsteps of people where access to medical facilities cannot reach.
Staffed with a doctor, a pharmacist and a nurse, the two Mobile Health Dispensaries (MHDs) of TPSODL in Boudh and Jeypore delivered healthcare services to more than 40,000 people. This initiative covered 992 villages and 449 panchayats, benefiting a population of more than 2 lakh.
The MHDs offer comprehensive services including free consultation, treatment and medicines to those in need the whole month. The primary beneficiaries of these camps are elderly people, women and children.
Aligned with this year’s Health Day theme, “My Health, My Right”, TPSODL reaffirmed its commitment to ensure the well-being of both its employees and the communities in Southern Odisha.
“On World Health Day, we reaffirm our pledge to make health and wellness a priority for our communities and our employees. Our Mobile Health Dispensaries in Boudh and Jeypore are more than medical missions. They are our pledge to ensure health equity. We believe that access to healthcare is a fundamental right and through our initiatives, we are committed to making this a reality for every individual we serve,” said Amit Garg, CEO, TPSODL.
