Bhubaneswar: Indian traders will get a chance to explore business opportunities with their counterparts from countries such as Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Thailand and Turkey at the India International Mega Trade Fair at Janata Maidan here beginning Friday.
Customers, sourcing retailers, distributors and suppliers will have the opportunity to choose from 60,000 foreign and Indian products such as electronics and electrical, lifestyle products, handlooms, handicrafts, products of government departments and more.
The partner countries are Bangladesh and Afghanistan while the focus countries are Thailand and Turkey. Similarly, the partner states are Karnataka and West Bengal while the focus state is Jharkhand. Sources said that this is the first time that the fair is witnessing participation of such number of countries and states.
The National Aluminium Company (NALCO) is hosting the fair, which will continue till February 4,
Nalco CMD Tapan Kumar Chand will inaugurate the fair. “Bhubaneswar is a fast emerging market in eastern India. This mega event will undoubtedly provide tremendous business opportunities. We are hoping to hold B2B meetings and attract investments to the state through the fair,” said Prakash Shah of Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
“There will be air-conditioned hangars, conference halls and VIP lounge at the venue. People can come and spend their time here from 12 noon to 9 pm. There will be an entry fee of Rs 30 per person,” said Tapan Mohanty, chairman of the exhibition committee.
Along with the India International Mega Trade Fair, the Real Estate Developers Association (REDA) of Odisha will also host the Home and Decor Property Expo at the same venue. The property expo will give an opportunity to homebuyers to choose from a range of houses.
REDA secretary Jeetu Singh said that there will be houses for the high income group, middle income group and low income group. “All 34 members of the association will take part in the property expo. There will also be financial institutions to aid the buyers availing home loan,” said Singh.
