Berhampur: The members of Vasavi Club in the city, mostly belonging to traders community, provided free lunch to the inmates of old age home Om Zara Nivas, distributed books among the students and organised eye check-up camp during the club’s week-long humanitarian programme since September 1.
MLA Berhampur Bikram Panda, president Vasavi Club S Srinivas Rao, president of Arya Vysya Sangham P Buchi Babu and others attended the programme. Opthamologists Dr Jyotiranjan and Dr Rakesh tested the eyes of more than 50 patients in the eye camp organised jointly with Ruby Eye Hospital.
It is part of the ‘Vasavi Week’ organised every year, said convenor of the programme MVS Vasan. The Club is affiliated to Vasavi International and Arya Vysya Sangham.
