Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police on Thursday issued a traffic advisory for the state-level Republic Day parade in Bhubaneswar on January 26, its rehearsal and full dress rehearsal.
Traffic restriction and diversion will be in force at Mahatma Gandhi Marg and its periphery from 1 pm to 6 pm on January 23, from 6 am to 11.30 am on January 24, and from 6 am onwards till the end of the parade on January 26.
The traffic advisory is as follows:
1. No heavy vehicles will be allowed to ply towards Master Canteen Square either from Ram Mandir side or from Rajmahal side.
2. Two wheelers and light motor vehicles will be allowed from Rajmahal side towards Ram Mandir side through Master Canteen square only.
3. Vehicles will not be allowed to proceed towards PMG Square from Master Canteen Square till the completio
n of parade/event.
4. No vehicles will be allowed to proceed towards Rabindra Mandap side from Housing Board side and those vehicles will instead be diverted at Keshari talkies crossing. .
4. No vehicle will be allowed to move towards PMG square from AG square and those vehicles will be diverted at Jaydev Bhawan crossing towards Idcol auditorium.
5. Vehicle coming from 120 Infantry Battalion crossing will be diverted towards Unit 4 at MLA Colony crossing.
6. All the lanes touching Mahatma Gandhi Marg will be sealed and only pedestrian will be allowed.
The following places are designated for parking during the parade hours:
1. BDA Bus stand near Railway Station.
2. Open space in front of Congress Bhawan
3. Open space in front of Idcol auditorium.
4. Open space in front of Jaydev Bhawan
5. Open space in front of SBI in Unit-Il.
6, Open space inside Rabindra Mandap.
7. Unit-Il Girls’ High School Ground.
Besides this, selling of gas balloon is strictly prohibited in the area between PMG square and Master Canteen square till the completion of state-level parade on January 26. “Violation of the order is an offence punishable under section 96 of the Odisha Urban Police Act 2003,” it added.
