Bhubaneswar: Traffic constable, Puspalata Bhoi, who allegedly slapped the daughter of ADG, Pranabindu Acharya, has filed a complaint at the Capital police station regarding Thursday’s incident.
Bhoi mentioned in the complaint that the ADG’s daughter had misbehaved with her despite violating traffic rules.
A case has been registered regarding the same and police have also started investigating using CCTV footage of the area.
On Thursday, the ADG’s wife and daughter were passing by the traffic signal near AG Square in their red car.
In a statement, she admitted to have parked her vehicle ‘a bit ahead of the zebra crossing’ as vehicles behind her were urging her to give them space for a ‘u-turn’. When the she moved her car a bit ahead, a lady traffic constable approached the vehicle and allegedly slapped her. At this the girl asked the constable to apologize to her, stating that she had not committed a serious offence.
A heated argument ensued and the situation was brought under control only when the ADG came to the spot to resolve the matter.
