Bhubaneswar: A traffic constable died after allegedly being hit by a vehicle on NH-16 near Jayadev Vihar flyover in Bhubaneswar on Saturday night.
The deceased has been identified as Madhusudan Kirshani.
According to sources, the accident took place when he was returning home at Khandagiri after duty hours on his motorcycle around 10.30 pm. A native of Malkangiri, he was deployed at Ram Mandir Square traffic post. It is being suspected that Kirshani, who was wearing a helmet, was crushed to death under the wheels of a heavy vehicle.
A case has been registered and police are examining CCTV footage of the area to trace the killer vehicle and the accused.
