Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate police has issued temporary traffic regulations to ensure smooth movement of vehicles and pedestrians as a large gathering of devotees is expected along the procession routes and around ISKCON Temple in Bhubaneswar during Rath Yatra on July 16, Bahuda Yatra on July 24, and Sunabesha on July 25.
Restrictions During Rath Yatra (July 16) and Bahuda Yatra (July 24)
From 3 pm onwards, heavy vehicles a
pproaching from the Khordha side will not be permitted on the service road towards Fire Station Square until the chariots clear CRP Square.
No vehicles will be allowed on on either side of the road – The road from DAV School in Unit-VIII to Mausimaa Mandir and CRP Square and the stretch from CRP Square towards ISKCON Temple.
Additionally, vehicles will be barred from using the service road from the Kasturba School side and Nayapalli underpass side heading towards CRP Square until the chariots pass the square.
Restrictions During Sunabesha (July 25)
No vehicles will be allowed to ply from CRP Square towards ISKCON Temple from 5 pm until the conclusion of the Sunabesha Darshan.
These restrictions will not apply to emergency vehicles, including those of the police, fire, and ambulance services.
The Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate Police has urged the public to plan their travel routes in advance and cooperate with traffic personnel to avoid inconvenience and ensure the events proceed smoothly. Commuters are advised to use alternative routes during the restricted periods.
