Bhubaneswar: The traffic movement on National Highway 16 passing through Bhubaneswar has been diverted for 93 days from Tuesday.
The Commissionerate Police, in a public notice on Tuesday, stated that the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), Berhampur had requested for diversion of traffic due to construction work of flyover from Cosmopolis Chhak to Patrapada and in front of JK Tyer shop to Cosmopolis Chhak in Bhubaneswar.
“In order to facilitate the construction works for the benefit of the commuters, there is need for diversion of the vehicles for free flow of traffic on the road on NH-16 for safety and security of commuters,” read the notice.
As per the notice, all the vehicles going from Bhubaneswar towards Khurda will not be allowed to ply on NH-16 from Cosmopolis Chhak and will be diverted through the service road from Cosmopolis Chhak to Patrapada and take right turn to avail NH-16.
Similarly, the vehicles coming from Khurda towards Bhubaneswar will be diverted through service road in front
of JK Tyer shop opposite to Cosmopolis Chhak and take right turn to avail the NH-16.
The diversion of traffic movement will remain in force for a period of 93 days from October 31 to January 31, 2024.
