Lucknow: Prateek Yadav, the youngest son of Samajwadi Party founder Mulayam Singh Yadav and owner of Lucknow’s popular gym “The Fitness Planet,” was found dead on Wednesday morning after being rushed to Civil Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. He was 38.
Prateek had studied at the University of Leeds before returning to Lucknow to build a career in business and fitness, founding the popular local gym “The Fitness
Planet,” and was widely regarded for his dedication to health and wellbeing.
Aparna Bisht Yadav, his wife, has been active in politics for several years: she contested the 2017 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections from Lucknow Cantt on a Samajwadi Party ticket but lost to Rita Bahuguna Joshi. She subsequently joined the BJP in 2022, and was appointed vice‑chairperson of the Uttar Pradesh State Women’s Commission in 2024.
The couple tied the knot in 2011 amid much public glare at a ceremony held at the Yadav family’s ancestral village of Saifai in Etawah.
He went public earlier this year on his verified Instagram, accusing Aparna of creating a rift between him and other family members and saying he planned to file for divorce; he also charged that she sought fame and influence and described himself as under intense mental strain.
