Malkangiri: A picnic trip by some youths turned tragic as one of them died while taking bath in Beherguda waterfall of the district.
According to sources, the youths of MV 26 village under Gamphakonda panchayat had gone to the waterfall in Bejangibada panchayat of Kalimela block. One of them, Biju Mandal went for a bath in the waterfall which has a sloping surface.
While sliding down the slope, Biju was pushed backwards and his head hit a rock rendering him unconscious. His friends rushed him to the local hospital but he succumbed on the way, the sources said.
On being informed local police reached the spot and registered a case. They have sent the body for post-mortem.
