Cuttack: The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released the report on Drive Tests conducted in 15 cities, including Odisha’s Cuttack, and their surrounding areas to assess network quality provided by cellular mobile telephone service providers (TSPs).
The Drive Tests were conducted to assess the network quality provided by cellular mobile telephone service providers for voice and data services.
In the key performance indicators, all TSPs have met the Drop Call Rate (DCR) benchmark of 2% as well as Call Setup Success Rate (CSSR) of 95%.
The Operator Assisted Drive Test was carried out by Regional Office, Hyderabad with the help of Service Providers in Cuttack SSA and surrounding areas of Chandikhol, Kendrapara and Paradeep.
The Drive Test covered drive route of 385 km and six hotspots over a period of 4 days (May 24-27), from 9 am to 8 pm.
Around 410 calls were made for each of the 8 networks — three 2G networks, two 3G networks and three LTE network covering four TSPs.
Cuttack apart, the other cities (and surrounding areas) where Drive Tests were conducted are Jalandhar, Ambala, Aizawl, Contai, Imphal, Kishanganj, Port Blair, Bilaspur, Gwalior, Meerut, Ahmednagar, Chikmagalur, Warangal, Coimbatore, besides Meerut-Agra and Gwalior-Guna highways, and Raigarh-Dongargarh rail route during the quarter ending June 2022.
