Bhubaneswar: The officials of Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) seized fake notes in denomination of Rs 2,000 from a passenger travelling in Kamakhya-Yesvantpur AC SF Express train at Bhubaneswar railway station here on Friday.
The passenger, identified as Simar, has been detained for allegedly smuggling the 150 fake notes to Bengaluru from Bangladesh. He hails from a village close to Bangladesh border, DRI officials said.
The seizure is being suspected to be part of a big racket active in the state, where fake notes are seized at regular intervals, and a detailed probe has begun to unearth it.
