Train Services From Puri To Ayodhya To Start In July-August, Says Rly Minister

Puri: The Railway Ministry has decided to start train services from Puri in Odisha to Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh and train line from Puri to Konark soon.

This was revealed by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, while speaking to media persons in Puri on Thursday.

Stating that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was keen on fast development of railway network in Odisha, Vaishnaw said he has been regularly monitoring the ongoing projects in the state.

“As part of the prime minister’s initiative, decision has been taken on two major projects keeping the development of the area. One of the projects is Puri-Konark railway line, which has been a long-standing demand of the people of the area. Its work will start very soon,” he said.

The second project that has been approved for Odisha is train services from Puri, the land of Lord Jagannath, to Ayodhya, the land of Lord Ram. “The work in this regard has already been started. A lot of works are going on for development of railway services including doubling of tracks in Ayodhya. I hope all necessary supporting works will be completed soon and the trains will start running in July-August,” he added.
