Train Services Hit By Nor’wester In Gajapati

Parlakhemundi: Train services were disrupted and normal life was affected at Parlakhemundi in Gajapati district as a Nor’wester swept the town along with several other parts of the district on Sunday.

The Visakhapatnam-Gunupur passenger train was halted for more than an hour after tree branches were uprooted and fell on the track connecting Pathapatnam in Andhra Pradesh with Parlakhemundi. Commuters were severely inconvenienced by the sudden rescheduling of trains on various routes.

According to sources, railway traffic was brought to normal after the tree branches were removed from the tracks by the emergency crews.
