Training Programme For Hockey Coaching Takes Off In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Hockey Association of Odisha in association with Hockey Promotion Council started its first Coaching Education Programme in Bhubaneswar on Monday.

David John, Director, Hockey Odisha, is the instructor for this course which aims at developing hockey coaches in the state. On the first day, women hockey players from Sports Hostel at Bhubaneswar participated in the training programme along with Olympians Sunita Lakra and Lililma Minz.

Most of these players were part of the team that recently won the Senior National Hockey Championship.

The course will run in batches for the next few days and help more hockey players from the state take up coaching as a profession.
