Puri: Frequent fisticuffs and encounters between trangenders and policemen have become a regular feature of Puri city in recent times.
A similar incident of fighting between the cops and a couple of trangenders near Beach Police outpost at Subash Bose Square has come to light in the wee hours of Thursday. The incidents of jostling and fisticuffs between the patrolling cops and the two are doing rounds on social media.
The cops are reported to have intercepted the two transgenders moving conspicuously near the Subash Bose Square and sought to know their late night mission. The transgenders allegedly offered resistance to the police, who were on a routine beat, and picked up an argument and exchanged verbal invectives for questioning their motives.
Consequently, both the transgenders and the cops were injured in the conflict that turned violent. The accused transgenders have been detained by the Beach police for further investigation.
