Mumbai: Thinking out of the box is the key to success in tough times.
In a unique innovation, a Mumbai-based travel company is offering “vaccine tourism” to those who want to receive COVID-19 shots early and can afford travelling to the US, The Times of India reported.
The four-day tour package to the United States, with coronavirus vaccine as the central theme, will cost Rs 1.75 lakh, and includes Delhi-New York-Delhi air ticket return fare, hotel tariff for three days and four nights and a vaccine shot.
“As soon as the Pfizer vaccine is officially published to sell in America (tentative date December 11), we are ready to get done for a select few clients,” the company said in a WhatsApp teaser message.
“We are not holding or procuring any vaccine. Everything we will arrange will be within laws of the US. We will only process your requirements. Right now, no time frame can be committed. We do not collect any advance or deposits now. We just need your registration with us with your name, email address, phone number, age, and one of your physical complications and passport copy. Rest everything will be done as per official permissions of the health department there. Unless they allow official sales to people other than Americans, we cannot give you the vaccine,” the message reads.
American pharma company Moderna has already applied for emergency regulatory clearance of its vaccine candidate, while Pfizer will follow suit in the next few weeks.
The US media has reported that the first round of vaccinations are expected to be given to select Americans from mid-December.
