Treatment Of Ollywood Actor Papu Pom Pom Underway At AIIMS-New Delhi

New Delhi: Doctors at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, began treatment of Ollywood actor and comedian Tatwa Prakash Satpathy, popularly known as Papu Pom Pom, on Wednesday.

After arriving in the national capital in an Airbus from Bhubaneswar on May 15, Papu was admitted to the ICU (bed no-12) of the Gastrology department.

Sources said a team of doctors, led by Prof Anup Saraya of the Gastrology department, have begun the treatment of the Ollywood actor.

The team has decided to conduct a series of test on Papu, who is afflicted with acute pancreatitis.

Th actor’s wife Sangeeta Satpathy said that her husband is responding to the treatment and will recover soon. She also appealed to the media not to spread rumours about his health condition.

Meanwhile, several non-resident Odias met the actor’s family members and wished for his early recovery.

The well-wishers of Papu informed the media that they have urged the Odisha government to provide all possible assistance for his treatment.

Papu was admitted to the SUM Hospital in Bhubaneswar on May 5 after he complained of acute pain in the lower abdomen. He was later diagnosed with acute pancreatitis.

Though his condition was stable for two days, he was admitted to the ICU on May 7 following acute chest pain.

The doctors later advised the family members to shift him to the AIIMS in New Delhi for better treatment.

On the advice of the doctors, Papu was airlifted to New Delhi on May 8.
