New Delhi: Tremors were felt in Kolkata and other parts of West Bengal as an earthquake, measuring 5.6 on the richter scale, struck Bangladesh at 9.05 am on Saturday.
The epicentre of the quake was 48 km southwest of Comilla and it was reported at a depth of 55 km, , according to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS).
West Bengal Disaster Management Department, Kolkata Police and the Kolkata Municipal Corporation told PTI that no damage to life or property has so far been reported.
