Puri: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) on Friday decided to display a trial rate chart of Mahaprasad (Abadha) available at Anand Bazaar on Jagannath Temple premises in Puri on December 2.
The rate will be fixed after the Abhada is cooked at Bhoga Mandapa of the shrine on Sunday. The rate of different handies (pots) will also be decided.
The rate chart will be finalised taking into the expenditure on wood, ‘handi’, water, labour and the margin of profit.
The rate of ‘ticket darshan’, however, has not been fixed yet.
“Ticket darshan should be allowed to ‘Bhitara Katha’, so that the devotees can have darshan of deities from close quarters. This will help generate revenue for the temple,” said SJTA Administrator (ritual) Pradip Kumar Das.
Notably, the rate chart of Mahaprasad of Jagannath Temple in Puri was scheduled to be fixed after the month of Kartika.
Chief administrator of SJTA Pradipta Mohapatra earlier said that the rate chart of the ‘Mahaprasad’ will be fixed after Suara and Mahasuara Nijog provides a detailed list of the cost towards its preparation.
