Bhawanipatna: The national flag snapped off the post during the hoisting ceremony here on Saturday morning, much to the embarrassment of dignitaries present.
According to sources, Health and Family Welfare Minister Pratap Jena pulled the string of the flag only to see the tricolour fall from the post and land on the ground. Collector and SP were also present at the 70th Republic Day celebration ceremony.
The flag was reattached to the post and the hoisting ritual completed, the sources added.
