Jagatsinghpur: Bijaya Shankar Das, BJD MLA from Tirtol in Odisha, has landed in further trouble. After accusing him of failing to turn up for their marriage registration and lodging a police case against him, the MLA’s wife-to-be Somalika has further accused him of running a sex racket.
She has mentioned Das and five other persons in her fresh complaint.
Somalika had returned home after waiting for Das at a court in Jagatsinghpur for over three hours on Friday. “He had promised he would come today (June 17) for the marriage. He neither turned up nor is responding to my phone calls now. I’m not sure what has happened. Either he might have been kidnapped or is cheating on me,” she told the media.
The MLA, however, refuted the allegations. “As per norms, the marriage registration needs to be completed within 90 days of applying for it. We still have 60 days left for the marriage registration. I haven’t received any information from anyone regarding registration of marriage today (June 17),” he had said.
Notably, Somalika released some of their intimate pictures on social media when Das allegedly expressed his reluctance to marry her after differences cropped up between them. With the mediation of their lawyers, both finally agreed to get married and applied for marriage registration at the office of the Sub-Registrar on June 17.
