Rairangpur: Driver of a truck, carrying LPG cylinders, was critically injured after the vehicle fell off the bridge near Bisoyi in Rairangpur block in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district late on Tuesday.
The driver, identified as Mrutyunjay Srivastav (45) of Jamshedpur in Jharkhand, was admitted to the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Bisoyi and later shifted to Rairangpur sub-divisional hospital.
The ill-fated truck was on the way to Baripada from Jamshedpur, carrying LPG cylinders, when the driver lost control over the truck on the bridge. As a result, the truck skidded off the road and fell off the bridge.
On being informed, police rushed to the spot and admitted the driver to the hospital.
People in the locality said that the protection wall of the bridge had been damaged since long.
