Truck Driver Loses Control On Ghat Road, Collides With 7 Vehicles In Odisha’s Mayurbhanj

Baripada: At least 15 persons sustained injuries as a mineral-laden truck collided with 7 vehicles in a series of accidents on Dwarasuni Ghat road in Mayurbhanj district on Wednesday.

According to sources, the truck carrying iron ore was going from Joda in Keonjhar district to Kharagpur in West Bengal when its driver lost control over the vehicle on the ghat road.

While the driver tried to keep the truck from falling into the deep valley, the vehicle collided with 3 cars, 2 buses, one tempo and a motorcycle before turning over on the road. As many as 15 persons travelling in the vehicles were injured in the accidents.

On being informed, personnel from Bangiriposi police station and Fire Brigade rushed to the spot. With the help of the locals, they rescued the injured persons and rushed them to Bangiriposi health centre.

Later, the critically injured persons were shifted to Pandit Raghunath Murmu Hospital at Baripada, the sources said.
