Dhenkanal: Police recovered the body of a man from inside an abandoned SUV at Gaudakateni near Motanga in Dhenkanal district on Tuesday.
The deceased, Adikanda Behera, was a truck driver with a construction company.
According to reports, Behera was critically injured after his truck met with an accident on the company premises on Monday night. Behera was being taken to the district headquarters hospital in the SUV by some company staff when he succumbed on the way.
Police suspect that the people ferrying Behera to hospital abandoned the SUV and fled the spot after he died.
Police said they have launched an investigation to ascertain the chain of events leading to his death.
