Truck Goes Up In Flames After Collision With Bike In Odisha’s Mayurbhanj

Baripada: A loaded truck went up in flames after collision with a bike under mysterious circumstances in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district on Tuesday.

According to sources, the truck, which was loaded to its capacity, was going through the district on National Highway 18 in the afternoon. While crossing the high school at Jagannathkhunta under Bangiriposi police station, a biker came in front of the truck.

Though the truck driver applied brake, the heavy vehicle hit the bike with major force. The truck also dragged the bike to a distance and there was an explosion, the sources said.

Following the explosion, both bike and the truck caught fire. Before police or Fire services personnel could reach the spot, the fire engulfed the entire truck, the sources said.

Later, a team from Bangiriposi police station reached the place and Fire personnel doused the fire. The bike rider has been seriously injured in the incident while the truck driver is absconding, police said.
