Truck Owners’s 24-Hour Bandh Over Rly Project Hits Life In Odisha’s Keonjhar

Keonjhar: Normal life was hit in Odisha’s Keonjhar district with Truck Owners’ Association observing 24-hour bandh, demanding cancellation of a railway project linking Gandhamardan B Mines managed by the OMC.

The bandh is being supported by Keonjhar Merchants’ Association and 15 other local organisations.

According to sources, business establishments and educational institutions remained closed due to the bandh while movement of vehicles was disrupted. Emergency services have been excluded from the ambit of the bandh.

The truckers claimed that the proposed project from Suakathi to Guhaldihi  would render them jobless as transportation of iron ores would shift entirely to trains.
