Bhubaneswar: A pick-up van driver was killed after a speeding truck rammed into it on a flyover in Odisha capital on Tuesday evening.
As per reports, the pick-up van stopped due to engine problem on the flyover near Vani Vihar in Bhubaneswar. The van’s driver had managed to park the vehicle on the roadside and was repairing the engine along with the helper.
Meanwhile, a truck coming on high speed from behind rammed into the stationary van. On the impact of the accident, the van driver died on the spot. The truck driver was also seriously injured in the incident.
Following the accident, the movement of vehicular traffic on the flyover was affected for some time. On being informed, a police team went to the spot and restored the traffic movement. They also sent the body for post-mortem and admitted the truck driver in a hospital.
