Bhubaneswar: A youth was crushed to death under the wheels of a sand-laden truck near Palasuni bridge in Bhubaneswar on Saturday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Niranjan Sahu of Gadajit area in Jajpur district. He was staying in a rented accommodation at Palasuni.
The accident took place around 8:30 am when the truck hit him from behind and then ran over his waist, killing him on the spot.
The truck driver, who fled the spot with the vehicle, was later apprehended by police at Khandagiri Square, sources said.
