Trump Says Iran’s Supreme Leader Dead, Tehran Declines Claim

Washington: US president Donald Trump said that Iran’s top leader was no longer supreme and expressed doubt whether Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei was dead or alive. But Iran has strongly refuted such claims. In an interview to a news channel, an Iranian representative to the UN had claimed that the leader’s absence from public a

ppearances was a calculated move.

According to reports, he claimed Mojtaba, who was named as successor, may be dead or injured. Trump made this statement during a summit in Miami. He made the remark on Friday.

“Their anti-aircraft and communications capabilities are totally dismantled,” he said.

Trump said US military strikes had exceeded expectations. He claimed the strikes had weakened the country’s military power. He also boasted that important portions of Iran’s forces had been damaged.

According to Trump, US forces were destroying missile stockpiles. They were aiming at drone and missile manufacturing facilities.

Earlier, Trump had said he didn’t consider Mojtaba a leader as nobody knew what happened to him.
