Keonjhar: Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti and Tribal Welfare Bishweswar Tudu has been in the news for a controversial remark he made about apathtic officials needing ”thoro
ugh bashing” when they go to Mayurbhanj district.
Tudu, who was in an official tour of Keonjhar district on October 8, visited a water resources project in Kanpur under Joda block and a nodal hospital at Joda before going to Champua to attend a review meet at the conference hall of the Sub-Collector.
Tudu attended the review meeting in the presence of Sub-Collector, ITDA project officials and other engineers. A discussion ensued about a kitchenroom in a Nayagarh school which did not have a fence. A junior engineer who responded to the minister’s query in a lighter vein angered Tudu.
An irked Tudu is alleged to have warned the official that he would have a bitter taste of bashing in public if he visits his home district Mayurbhanj.
The minister’s “bashing theory” assumed significance on social media circles.
