Bhubaneswar: Police have arrested a tuition teacher for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor girl student in Odisha’s Khurda district.
According to the police complaint filed by the girl’s mother, the accused, Lingaraj Muduli, used to give private tuition to school students in Gambharimunda under Nachuni police station of the district.
Lingaraj had called some of his girl students to the primary school of Tota village in the evening of October 5 on the pretext of giving them leaked question papers for their examination. Since the minor students trusted him, they turned up at the school at 7 pm.
Lingaraj took a Class VII girl student to the kitchen of the school and sexually assaulted her. He warned all students against revealing the matter to anybody and threatened them of dire consequences if they did not keep silent.
On returning home, the victim student did not say anything about the incident to her family members. But she did not want to go to the tuition of Lingaraj any more. Her mother suspected that something was wrong and after her persistent queries, the girl revealed the matter to her.
Shocked by the incident, her mother filed a complaint against Lingaraj at Gambharimunda police outpost. The police registered a case and arrested him following investigation. Lingaraj would be forwarded to court on Saturday, the sources said.
