Mumbai: BJP MLA Ram Kadam assured the family of deceased actress Tunisha Sharma that they will get justice and all angles will be probed, including ‘love jihad’.
Tunisha allegedly committed suicide on the set of her TV show ‘Ali Baba Dastaan-E-Kabul’ on Saturday. Her co-star and former boyfriend Sheezan Khan has been arrested in a case of abetment to suicide.
A case under section 306 of IPC has been registered against Sheezan after Tunisha’s mother filed a complaint stating that the duo was in a relationship and blamed Sheezan for her extreme step.
Condoling the death of the young actress, the BJP MLA said that the state government will conduct a fair probe and ensure that the guilty is punished.
“What was the reason for the suicide? Is there love jihad in this? Or is there some other issue? Investigation will reveal the truth, but Tunisha Sharma’s family will 100 per cent get justice. And if this is a case of love jihad, then the police will also probe which organisations are behind it and who the conspirators are,” the MLA told a news channel.
Even as investigation is underway, Mumbai Police said no love jihad angle has come to light thus far.
“Accused Sheezan’s and deceased’s phones have been seized. There’s no angle of any other affair, blackmailing or love jihad as of now,” said ACP Chandrakant Jadhav.
Sheezan has been sent to four-day police custody by the Vasai court in Mumbai.
According to the complaint lodged by the deceased’s mother, Sheezan had broken up with her 15 days back, and Tunisha was in depression which led her to take the extreme step.
