Sambalpur: A man was trampled to death by a wild elephant at Kuchinda in Sambalpur district in the early hours of Monday.
The tusker attacked Trinath Dharua, a resident of Ramachipidihi village under Sahaspur range in the district, when he had gone to a nearby forest area to attend nature’s call.
The forest officials reached the spot after being informed about incident and started investigation.
“We are living under constant fear because of the elephants. The forest department should take necessary steps to protect the villagers from elephant attacks,” a local resident said.
