Bhubaneswar: Keonjhar’s Tussar silk products will soon be available online on the e-commerce platform Flipkart. Tussar Rearers Cooperative Society (TRCS), Bhagamunda and Flipkart have signed an MoU.
Established in the late 1970s, Bhagamunda TRCS has helped over 3,000 Tussar growers generate income and livelihood. Along with 3 other TRCS, they impart reeling, spinning, fabric printing and embroidery training.
A Tussar Silk Park funded by the state Government was inaugurated at TRCS Bhagamunda in 2019. It has 100 solar-powered reeling machines, 10 re-reeling machines, 5 deflossing machines, 2 bok making machines and 1 digital textile printing machine.
