Bhubaneswar: In a swift action, the Mahila police arrested a 38-year-old coaching tutor allegedly sexually assaulting a minor girl student at his coaching centre in Bhubaneswar.
The accused, identified as Niranjan Mishra from Jajpur, ran the coaching near the Chakeisihani Mangala Temple in Mancheswar police station limits.
The incident came to light after the 17-year-old survivor studying in Class XII informed her family, who immediately lodged a formal complaint.
Police registered a case, recorded the victim’s statement, and sent her for medical examination before arresting the tutor on Tuesday.
Police said the accused is being interrogated to ascertain whether anyone else was involved.
