Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police have made elaborate security arrangements in Odisha capital in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s day trip to the state on September 17.
Commissioner of Police (CP) Sanjeeb Panda revealed that watertight security measures are being put in place in and around Bhubaneswar. “Road barricades will be installed from Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) to Janta Maidan, traffic restrictions will be stringent, and entire the security will be in adherence to the Blue Book protocol,” Panda added.
The CP further said that plain-clothed police personnel will be deployed to ensure comprehensive security coverage ahead of PM Modi’s visit to the Odisha capital, where he will launch Subhadra Yojana during an event at Janata Maidan.
Modi will also lay the foundation stones of several other projects. While details about these projects are yet to be disclosed the PM is expected to arrive at Bhubaneswar airport on Tuesday at 11:35 am, said sources.
He will proceed directly to Janata Maidan, where he will participate in the programme scheduled from noon pm to 1 pm. Following the event, he will depart for Delhi, the sources added.
