Sambalpur/Boudh: Six persons were killed in two road accidents in Odisha on Tuesday.
In the first incident, four persons died and 10 were seriously injured after a truck rammed into makeshift shops at the Dhanu Yatra festival ground at Paramanapur on the outskirts of Sambalpur city early morning.
The injured were taken to Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR), Burla. The condition of three is stated to be critical.
In the other accident, two persons were killed in a head on-collision between two trucks near Guduguda Chhak on NH-57 in Boudh district in the wee hours of Tuesday.
According to witnesses, one of the trucks was carrying drinking water bottles and the other was laden with vegetables.
Police said both truck drivers died in the accident. They were identified as Uttam Sahu of Charichhak area in Boudh town and Kuna Manika of Pichukuli in Khurda district.
