New York: Have you had enough of Twitter?
Well, there is an alternative in ‘Bluesky’, if you are an Android user.
Ironically, the new application on Android has been launched by Twitter co-founder and former CEO Jack Dorsey.
‘Bluesky’ will serve as an alternative to the microblogging platform which has seen changes galore since being acquired by billionaire Elon Musk last October.
According to the Bluesky app’s website, the ‘social internet’ of the future will give users more options and creators ‘independence from platforms’.
The app is still under development and may currently be accessed only with an invite code.
“We’re building the AT Protocol, a new foundation for social networking which gives creators independence from platforms, developers the freedom to build, and users a choice in their experience,” the website states.
Dorsey started developing Bluesky as a side project in 2019 with Twitter financing. He quit Twitter in November 2021, and Bluesky was first rolled out to iOS users in late February.
