Twitter Outage Strikes 55,000 Users; India Not Majorly Affected

San Francisco: Twitter was briefly down for around 55,000 users globally on Thursday, according to data shared by outage tracking website Downdetector.

“Something went wrong. Try reloading,” was the message that showed up for these users.

Those accessing the social media platform on their desktop were automatically logged out from their accounts.

India wasn’t majorly affected, with just about 400 outages being reported, according to Downdetector.

The countries which reported a large number of outage were the UK, the US, Pakistan, Brazil and Italy.

Bloomberg reported that 54,582 users reported problems on Thursday morning, New York time.

The outage lasted for about 10 minutes before services were restored.

The cause of outage wasn’t immediately clear.

Twitter recently sued Elon Musk for pulling out of the $44 billion deal to buy the popular social media platform.

The last time Twitter suffered a global outage was on February 11, when when there were an ‘elevated number of application programming interface errors’.
