Twitterati Demand Bharat Ratna For Manmohan Singh & SP Balasubrahmanyam

Bhubaneswar: Even as netizens ran a social media campaign to confer Bharat Ratna either on former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh or late singer SP Balasubrahmanyam, some Twitterati demanded the same for farmers and scientists.

Some netizens wished the former Prime Minister on his 88th birthday on Saturday and applauded his economic reforms. Some justified his contributions as being suitable for the prestigious award.

Getting emotional over the demise of legendary singer SP Balasubrahmanyam, fans ran a campaign on Twitter to nominate him for Bharat Ratna for his contribution to music. Taking it further, some fans even started an online petition, “Bharat Ratna to SP Balasubrahmanyam”, through change.org.
