Bhubaneswar: Khurda district topped the tally with six deaths for the second consecutive day on Saturday as 40 more patients succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours.
According to Health Department sources, fresh fatalities have been reported from 15 districts of the state.
Besides Khurda, Cuttack, Mayurbhanj and Sundargarh have reported four deaths each, followed by three each from Angul, Boudh, Jharsuguda and Kalahandi, two each from Bargarh, Bolangir and Deogarh and one each from Ganjam, Kandhamal, Nayagarh and Sambalpur.
The deceased have been identified as:
1.A 60 years old male of Angul district who was also suffering from TB.
2.A 57 years old male of Angul district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus.
3.A 37 years old female of Angul district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus.
4.A 48 years old male of Balangir district who was also suffering from Hypertension.
5.A 33 years old male of Balangir district.
6.A 63 years old female of Baragarh district.
7.A 59 years old male of Baragarh district.
8.A 75 years old male of Boudh district.
9.A 45 years old male of Boudh district.
10.A 75 years old male of Boudh district.
11.A 83 years old female of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Hypertension.
12.A 56 years old male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension & hypothyroidism.
13.A 35 years old male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Hypothyroidism.
14.A 52 years old female of Cuttack district.
15.A 58 years old male of Cuttack district.
16.A 50 years old male of Cuttack district.
17.A 55 years old male of Cuttack district.
18.A 34 years old male of Deogarh district.
19.A 52 years old male of Deogarh district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension & Chronic Kidney Disease.
20.A 35 years old male of Ganjam district.
21.A 45 years old female of Jharsuguda district.
22.A 67 years old female of Jharsuguda district who was also suffering for Diabetes Mellitus.
23.A 52 years old male of Jharsuguda district.
24.A 43 years old male of Kalahandi district.
25.A 52 years old male of Kalahandi district.
26.A 68 years old male of Kalahandi district.
27.A 39 years old male of Kandhamal district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus.
28.A 44 years old male of Khurdha district who was also suffering from Hypertension & Post Renal transplant.
29.A 19 years old male of Khurdha district.
30.A 33 years old male of Khurdha district.
31.A 38 years old female of Mayurbhanj district.
32.A 51 years old female of Mayurbhanj district.

With this, the COVID-19 toll in the state has mounted to 2952.
