Two 3-Storey Buildings, 5 Plots Detected During Odisha Vigilance Raid On Excise Supt

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance on Friday detected two multi-storey building, 5 plots in Jeypore town and Rs 1.09 lakh in cash during simultaneous searches on properties linked to Deputy Superintendent of Excise-cum-I/C Superintendent of Excise, Nabarangpur, Gonga Paikray on the allegation of possession of disproportionate assets.

According to a release, the raids are being conducted by a team led by 3 DSPs, 5 inspectors, 6 ASIs and other staff on the strength of search warrants issued by Special Judge, Vigilance, Jeypore, at 6 places in Koraput and Nabarangpur districts.

Assets detected in name of Paikray and his family member include:

1) A triple-storey residential building over an area of 4000 sqft near Fire Station, Jeypore.

2) Another triple-storey residential building over an area of 1800 sqft at Nuasahi Lane-1, Jeypore.

3) One tin parking shed surrounded by compound wall over 3600 sqft area at Jagadhatripur, Jeypore.

4) Advance amount Rs 16 lakh paid to Annapurna Real Estate, Jeypore, during 2013-14 to purchase land/house.

5) 5 plots in prime area of Jeypore town.

6) Rs 1,09,150 in cash

7) 2 four wheelers and 2 two wheelers.

The measurement and valuation/assessment of the buildings/plots is being carried out by Vigilance Technical Wing. Bank, insurance, postal and other deposits are also under verification, it added.
