Cuttack: Police on Thursday arrested two persons from Cuttack railway station and seized brown sugar worth over Rs 6 lakh from their possession.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team raided Cuttack railway station and seized brown sugar weighing 55 gram from Sheikh Kala (29) and Zamal Khan (27), hailing from Medinapur in West Bengal.
The accused used to supply the contraband to different places across the state. “They are being interrogated. Further investigation is underway to track down the network and nab other persons involved in the smuggling racket,” a police officer said.
