Baripada: Police have arrested two persons for allegedly murdering a man over love affair in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district.
According to police sources, one Ashok Sethi was staying in the house of Sriram Singh in Ashokati village under Sarat police station in the district on rent. Ashok, who had opened a mobile repair shop, developed a relationship with a woman who was also staying in the same house on rent and running a tailor shop.
On knowing about their relationship, Sriram had objected to it. Ashok felt offended by the house owner’s interference and hatched a conspiracy to eliminate him.
On the night of April 25, Ashok called Sriram to his house to give him a cheque towards house rent. As Sriram did not return home from Ashok’s house, the former’s wife Malati Hembram filed a complaint at Sarat police station.
Following investigation into the complaint, a special team of the police station detained Ashok and his accomplice Ashok Sethi and questioned them. They confessed to the police to have murdered Sriram.
The police also recovered the sord used in killing Sriram and his body which was dumped by the two accused in Kuladiha village under Nilagiri police limits.
