Jagatsinghpur: Police on Friday arrested two persons on charges of selling liquor illegally in Jagatsinghpur district.
Sanjay Kumar Bhol, a resident of Tarada village under Mandasahi panchayat in the district, was arrested following a raid on a beetle shop. About 15 bottles of foreign liquor was seized from the shop, police sources said.
Similarly, a police team comprising sub-inspector Padmalaya Pradhan and ASI Prakash Mohanty of Jagatsinghpur police station recovered 20 bottles of foreign liquor during a surprise raid on a house at Madhusudanpur Sasan in the district. A person identified as Shankar Behera was arrested from the spot.
