Cuttack: Excise sleuths here on Tuesday arrested two persons, including a student, on charges of illegally transporting ganja in a car.
Those arrested were identified as Basant Mohanty of Naha village in Keonjhar district and Nilakantha Hansa, a student hailing from Tikabali area in Kandhamal district.
According to reports, the excise officials intercepted the vehicle near Kathajodi bridge and nabbed the two with one quintal of ganja. The contraband was being smuggled to other states via Jaleswar from Kandhamal.
The vehicle belonging to one Basant Mohanty was also seized.
